形態特徵

Suffruticose plants, to 1.5 m tall, glabrous or covered with septate hairs; stems square, angles prominent.
Leaves petiolate; petioles minutely hairy, 1–4 cm long; blades 5–10 cm long, 2–5 cm wide, ovate to elliptic, base cuneate, apex acute, margins serrate, often incised, both surfaces minutely hairy, glandular dotted beneath.
Inflorescences of cymes forming capitate clusters, axillary or terminal; peduncles 5–10 cm long, square, minutely hairy; bracteolate, upper surface of bracts glabrous, lower surface minutely hairy. Flowers sessile or with short pedicel; calyx campanulate-tubular, minutely hairy at base and on margins, 5-toothed, teeth equal or nearly so, compressed spine-like; corolla white, tubular, limb bilabiate, minutely hairy in upper part, short, 0.5–1 mm long, upper lip very broadly ovate, emarginate, lower lip 3-lobed, central lobe large; stamens 4, didynamous, exserted, anthers 2-celled, filaments glabrous; stigma bifid.
Nutlets ellipsoid, smooth, ca. 1.2 mm long.
